5-Day Kruger National Park Safari

Day 1.   Johannesburg/Pretoria to Kruger Park.

One of our friendly and knowledgeable field guides will meet you at your preferred departure point (Airport or Hotel) for the transfer to the Kruger Park by air-conditioned vehicle.  The route takes us due east through the Highveld farmlands and scenic Schoemans Kloof, a small section of the impressive Drakensberg Mountains.  Your guide will speak about various points of interest on the way.  Midway through the journey we take a short comfort break and to purchase refreshments at the Alzu Rest Stop. The centre has various restaurants and a curio shop with local arts and crafts.

After entering at one of the Parks main gates, we take a slow game drive to our rest camp arriving around lunch time and check into our accommodation.  After settling in, you can go to the camp shop or restaurant.  A good option would be to buy your food and go and sit at one of the benches overlooking the Sabie River and take in the bush atmosphere.

We head back to camp before the gates close for the night.  We meet up for dinner at the camp restaurant or a BBQ prepared by your guide where we can share the days experiences and memorable moments.

Days 2, 3 & 4.   Full days in the Park.

Early wake up call.  After tea/coffee and biscuits we depart on our early morning game drive.  This is usually the most rewarding time of the day with the likelihood of spotting one of the major predators still on the prowl.  Breakfast is taken at a convenient rest camp or picnic area where various birds congregate hoping to snatch up some fallen morsel.  The picnic areas are not fenced off so the chances of seeing monkeys, squirrels or the odd brazen buck is likely and a source of great entertainment.

We then continue with the game drive until we return to camp to have lunch (restaurant or take away) and to rest during the heat of the day.  The time after lunch and before our next drive can be used to take a short nap, read a book or spend some time at the sparkling swimming pool.

Refreshed from our down time, we head out in the cooler afternoon to explore different areas hoping to find the animals that have so far eluded us.  At the end of our late afternoon game drive we return to camp just before the camp gates close for the night.  Dinner at the camp restaurant or a BBQ prepared by your guide, your choice.

Day 5.   Kruger National Park to Johannesburg/Pretoria.

Early wake up call.  We enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits and then with luggage loaded we depart on our final game drive before stopping for breakfast at a rest camp or picnic area.  We continue with the game drive until 10:00 and then prepare for the return journey to Jhb/Pta, stopping for lunch at a restaurant before arriving at your destination +-16:00.
